Jeez, words cannot describe what I'm feeling right now. The sheer feeling of what has been accomplished is incredible and I'm thankful to all of those people who've supported me. To drop WR from such an unimaginable time is an honor. 10 months ago I managed to achieve a 1.34 WR average but it was disqualified due to a misscramble and this impacted my official performance heavily. What if that tip wasn't off? Why did this have to happen? Why did it happen to me? These thoughts plagued my mind for an endless amount of time and the World record fail at Parramatta worsened these thoughts. But all these experiences were learning curves on how to carry myself when I finally got another opportunity. Going into this average I wasn't expecting anything crazy it was 30 degrees that day and the entire room was quite warm but something changed as I sat down to compete. All those past experiences and thoughts had seemed to become non - existant and I competed with a peace that I hadn't felt before. My solutions were efficient and my turning was smooth all the conditions were just right. After locking the Oceanic record average on the 4th solve my main concerns was getting ahead of myself where I would put little to no effort into the last solve purely because of my excitment. There had been mulitple occasions where I could have locked a better average but I didn't perform well on the last as I was satisfied with what I had this way of thinking cost me so much from winning worlds to cube dropping out of a 1.4 second solve in the 1.34 average. These were all experiences and lessons that I had learnt to keep my composure on the last solve where I managed to nearly get my BPA by locking a 1.09 on the last. So many thoughts went through my mind but the joy and shock I felt made me speechless. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience and I want to thank everyone for supporting me especially my friends and family.
